In-Patient Services
The Department of Medicine is the primary care provider for all medical emergencies seen in the Emergency Medical Services. A large number of patients with acute medical conditions such as heart attack, stroke, sepsis, poisonings, envenomations, and renal failure are treated daily. Many of them are acutely-ill requiring life-support, for which the Department runs a well-equipped 10-bedded ICU manned by a full-time consultant.. Each unit has approximately 26 beds for inpatient care.. Further, the Department provides clinical consultancy services to other departments of the Institute.
